The Absent armchair distills the comfort of the full system into a sculptural, singular
seat. Its ergonomic form follows the body in a semi-reclined posture, creating a
gentle cradle for rest. Crafted with cold-foam layers, it blends softness with support.
The armchair’s silhouette is bold yet quiet, making it ideal for reflective moments. A
visual and tactile experience, it brings calm to both residential nooks and refined
public spaces.
Numen / For Use is a design collective led by product designers Sven Jonke, Christoph Katzler and Nikola Radeljković. Over the past 20 years, Numen/For Use has been active globally in the fields of industrial and spatial design, scenography and conceptual art. They nourish very rational aesthetics that could be categorized as functional minimalism.
With this project, HSID Studio wanted to get rid of the traditional cold atmosphere and integrate modern living and management thinking and completely renovated the nearly 50-year-old house to achieve a Japanese-style space.
This project was realized by Nordico Design for a young couple keen on plants, fashion, and contemporary art. The apartment is located in a residential area of Taipei.
