From Forest to Factory
We source high-quality wood from Croatia’s rich forests, including walnut, ash, pine, beech, and Slavonian oak, along with select imported species like teak and iroko. With FSC 100% certification, we ensure responsible forestry and meticulous craftsmanship in our in-house carpentry.
The Journey of Wood in Our Furniture
Each piece of timber undergoes a carefully controlled process—from natural drying to precision finishing—preserving its integrity and longevity. We minimize waste by repurposing sawdust for the wood-pellet industry and using small wood residues as firewood. Thoughtful sourcing, sustainable practices, and expert craftsmanship make our furniture both timeless and environmentally responsible.

Our commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) extends beyond sustainable materials to the well-being and development of our people. More than just a factory, our workspace is a dynamic, creative environment where craftsmanship is nurtured, innovation is encouraged, and every team member is supported in their professional growth. Women make up 50% of our workforce across all departments—from furniture production to sales and management—bringing diverse perspectives and skills to our team.
Continuous learning is at the core of our culture. Through internal training programs, we provide ongoing education in various craftsmanship skills, enabling employees to refine their expertise or even transition to different roles within the company.
Our sustainability efforts begin with a carefully curated supply chain. We collaborate only with manufacturers who share our vision for sustainability and quality. By selecting raw materials of the highest standard, we ensure that our products remain durable, reducing the need for replacement and minimizing environmental impact.
Our circular economy platform, Štof by Prostoria, gives a second life to larger fabric remnants from furniture production. Štof by Prostoria serves as a showroom in Zagreb, where we sell textiles from previous collections and create cushions from smaller fabric pieces. We also support the restoration of vintage furniture, breathing new life into beloved pieces with the help of our skilled craftsmen. Any leftover fabric scraps are sent for local industrial recycling, ensuring that nothing goes to waste.
Reducing CO₂ Emissions and Using Renewable Energy
By integrating renewable energy sources and continuously improving our operations, we aim to significantly lower CO₂ emissions while maintaining high-quality furniture production.
Optimized Production and Logistics
Our dedicated R&D team works on enhancing every aspect of production, enabling us to minimize emissions at each stage. Streamlined manufacturing processes and a carefully managed transportation network further contribute to reducing our environmental footprint.
Solar Energy Integration
The nature of furniture production involves energy-intensive machinery, including tooling, finishing machines, and compressors, which require significant energy consumption. However, with our new solar energy system, we aim to utilize 100% of the solar power generated onsite. This initiative will significantly reduce energy costs while cutting CO2 emissions by 99.40 metric tonnes per year.
Waste Management and Circular Economy
At Prostoria, we have implemented a comprehensive waste management system to ensure minimal environmental impact. Our approach focuses on reusing, repurposing, and recycling materials wherever possible, while ensuring that hazardous waste is managed responsibly by certified partners.
Water and Wooden Waste
We achieve 0% water pollution emissions. All wooden waste is either reused within our processes or sold as wood-burning heat to the local community, ensuring no valuable resource is wasted.
Metal, Fabric, Leather, and Foam Waste
100% of our metal waste is collected and recycled. Similarly, fabric, leather, and foam waste are fully repurposed or reused, significantly reducing landfill waste and supporting our commitment to a circular economy.
Cardboard and Packaging
All cardboard packaging is produced and printed in-house on-demand. This approach reduces unnecessary production, allows for efficient recycling of materials, and ensures that packaging waste is kept to a minimum.
